RASP Warsaw:

Neon Digital Office

2020 - Warsaw

WORKPLACE

Details

"Neon Digital Office" is the new Warsaw headquarters for Ringier Axel Springer Polska (RASP), a European media leader. Following a successful prototype phase, the project unites previously dispersed editorial offices into a single, cohesive hub. The design serves as a physical extension of the company’s digital identity, creating a diverse work ecosystem that improves information flow, supports serendipitous interactions, and breaks down silos between departments.

From prototype to HQ

Our collaboration with RASP began in 2017 with the "Neon Innovation Hub"—a prototype space designed to test how transparency and open layouts affected cooperation within editorial teams. The success of this pilot provided the data and confidence needed to scale the concept. The new headquarters expands on these learnings, creating a unified home for brands like Onet, Forbes, and Newsweek.

Digital identity

The design reflects the company’s strategic pivot toward digital media and technology. We maintained the casual, "Brooklyn coffee shop" vibe that was well-received in the prototype but evolved it with post-digital motifs. The result is a workspace that feels less like a traditional corporate office and more like a vibrant media hub, with design elements that were co-created with the client’s team to ensure they resonated with the internal culture.

2

The social connector

To generate traffic and stimulate interaction between the two main levels, we introduced an internal staircase. This architectural intervention breaks the vertical barrier, acting as a casual meeting place that encourages spontaneous flow between departments that previously had little contact.

A media ecosystem

A central feature of the office is the internal coworking zone — the largest we have designed to date. Based on evaluations from previous offices, we knew that informal, café-like spaces were heavily used for both ad-hoc meetings and individual work. This new zone is highly flexible, serving as a social heart that can instantly transform to host media events, town halls, or even film sets and photo sessions.

Specialized functions

Beyond standard workstations, the office is equipped with specialised zones tailored to media activities. These include a professional recording studio, a fitness room, and a transparent executive board area that reduces hierarchy.

Interactive multimedia showroom

A standout feature is the interactive multimedia showroom, designed specifically to present digital products to strategic clients, making the company's technological potential tangible.

3

Strategic execution

The process began with strategic advisory, conducting fit tests for five potential locations to help the client select the optimal site. Once established, we engaged in deep consultations to map the diverse needs of various editorial teams. Managing this scale required rigorous budget discipline; we implemented a sustainable model prioritising the reuse of existing elements and coordinated closely with subcontractors, successfully optimising costs without compromising the design quality or functional performance.

4

Culture

The consolidation of once separated teams into one location has fundamentally changed how the organisation operates. Functional barriers have been removed — board members are now closer to employees, and shared social spaces allow for relationship building across hierarchies. The result is a "happy discovery" effect (serendipity), where knowledge exchange happens naturally and spontaneously.

Image transformation

The new office serves as a powerful business card. It signals RASP’s transformation into a modern, technology-driven media group. As HR Director Monika Remiszewska notes, the space is not just about comfort; it is a strategic tool that facilitates communication, supports well-being, and allows the company to showcase its innovative spirit to both employees and external partners.
