A new typology for the IT industry
2025-10-07insights

Should the contemporary office for an IT company, for IT teams, focus primarily on two functions: collaboration and quiet work? Are typical, traditional "open space" team zones still necessary? What should a spatial typology that actually works look like?

We have sketched the first iteration of an office concept titled Hyperfocus x Hypercollaboration.

In this concept, we assume that the office exists primarily to support collaboration, relationship building, generating better ideas, and problem-solving. These areas make up 50% of the space.

At the same time, we dedicated the other 50% of the space to individual work — tailored to personal preferences, in silence and focus. There are no typical open spaces here. However, we haven't forgotten that some people need to consult ad-hoc throughout the day, exchange thoughts, and "recharge" simply by being around others.

What do you think about this type of layout and approach? Below are conceptual drawings showing the direction we took and what we are looking for. We are wondering ourselves what will work and what won't. There are no existing implementations of this type, so there are no ready-made answers. We have to make some mistakes to find them. :)
